Sampoerna Agro builds palm oil processing mill in West Kalimantan
PT Sampoerna Agro Tbk (SGRO) has begun construction of a new palm oil mill in West Kalimantan with an investment of around IDR 100 billion. The mill has a capacity of 30 - 60 tons of fresh fruit bunches per hour and is expected to be ready by 2013.

LG International ventures into Palm Oil in West Kalimantan
LGI purchased a 16,000-ha palm farm in Sekadau, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. It invest USD27 million to establish a local subsidiary and take over 100% stake of the palm farm. 
LGI plans to plant palms starting next year and to begin harvesting palm fruits in 2013. Also, LGI will construct a palm oil processing factory in the farm by 2011 and begin productions in 2012. The company looks to produce an average volume of 80,000 tons of palm oil every year.

Cargill launches academy in West Kalimantan to train future leaders in palm oil
Cargill recently announced the official launch of the Cargill Tropical Palm Learning Academy, an institute of continuous learning with the objective of developing and nurturing professionals and future Cargill leaders in oil palm management. The academy, located in Manismata, West Kalimantan, is also Cargill’s first-ever specialized learning institution of its kind in the world, aimed at training professionals in the palm oil industry.

PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk To Construct More Palm Oil Mills In Kalimantan
Indonesia’s largest listed palm oil producer by area, PT Astra agro Lestari Tbk plans to use IDR412 billion-IDR516 billion from its total IDR1.5 trillion capital expenditure to construct four palm oil mills which are predicted to complete next year to develop its business.  The company is planning to construct two mills in South Kalimantan, scheduled for completion this year and another one in East Kalimantan, scheduled for completion next year. In addition to the planned new mills, Astra Agro is also planning to build dock facility in East Kalimantan to help speed up the process of export via sea route.
